Welcome!
General Information
The South Surrey Garden Club is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019-120. It is a very active club with approximately 300 members. We offer general gardening experiences. Monthly meetings include: a guest speaker, gardening tips, a show and tell, a question and answer table, plant sales and the opportunity to borrow materials from our extensive library.
Our Program Committee organizes activities which include workshops and tours of members' gardens.
We also have an online discussion group, a Facebook group, an Instagram account and a newsletter that is published 6 times a year.
Meetings
Meeting Time: 7:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month. (There are no meetings in August & December).
Meeting Format: Our meetings begin with highly informative and entertaining presentations by our members including highlights from our library, monthly garden tips, a spirited Show & Tell, and recent club news. This is followed by a short break so that members can peruse the library, enjoy a goodie, visit the Master Gardener's table, or perhaps sign up for a future workshop or excursion. Our featured speaker then presents an enlightening presentation often accompanied by vivid photographs. Speakers regularly bring plants and/ or their recent book, often available at reduced rates. We end the evening with a draw for door prizes.
Meeting Place: St Mark's Anglican Church, 12953 20th Ave, Surrey, BC. Go to: St. Mark's Anglican Church
Annual membership is $35. There is a drop-in guest fee of $5 to attend meetings: this may be applied to the annual membership fee upon becoming a member.
Name tags and membership cards are provided. We encourage you to wear your name tag on all occasions. Some garden centres offer discounts to club members – remember your card and always ask.
Annual Club Events
Additional Activities
These include a range of workshops; tours of members’ gardens; trips to various places of interest, sometimes out of town.
