Bookworms
Did you know that the South Surrey Garden Club has a bookclub?
They meet in the evening on the 2nd Wednesday of each month to discuss a book, eat a sweet treat, and share a few laughs.
They read a mix of fiction and non-fiction, and most books have something to do with gardens or plants.
Here are the books they will be chewing through in 2024/5
September: Brave the Wild River: The Untold Story of Two Women Who Mapped the Botany of the Grand Canyon by Melissa
October The Tobacco Wives by Adele Myers
November The Truffle Underground: A Tale of Mystery, Mayhem, and Manipulation in the Shadowy Market of the World’s Most Expensive Fungus by Ryan Jacobs
January: The Monks Hood by Ellis Peters
February: The Drunken Botanist by Amy Stewart
March: Garden of Evening Mists Tan Twang Eng
April: Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
May: Banana: The Fate of the Fruit that Changed the World by Dan Koeppel
June: The Botanist’s Daughter by Kayte Nunn
The club currently has a full complement of members, but you can add your name to the waiting list.
